How to assign email links to open in Gmail in Windows 10.


Firstly we will set our email default to Google Chrome. 


Step 1:

Click the Windows icon on the bottom left of the screen the select the "gear" for settings.



Step 2:

You will then select system and go to default apps on the left hand side.



Make sure you select Google Chrome as your default email setting.



Step 3:

Now we are going to make sure we are signed into Google Chrome. Click the 3 dots on the right hand side and select settings from the menu.


From the Settings menu the first option you should see is Sign in or Disconnect your Google account. Above that button it will say which email is signed in to Chrome. If you are using your personal email with this Chrome Profile you will need to Disconnect the personal account and make sure you are signed in with your FNU account.

 - If it says Sign in, go ahead and sign in with your FNU account.

 - If it shows you are signed in with a personal email, click disconnect and sign in with your FNU account.

 - If it shows you are already signed in with your FNU account you are good to move to the next step.


Step 4:

Now scroll scroll down the page to "Show advanced settings..." in blue text. From there scroll down until you see Privacy. Click Content settings.

Now from here you will locate Handlers then click the Manage handlers button. This will pull up a new window it should show mailto then a drop down box with

If it shows this you are complete. If it is blank move onto the next step.


Step 5:

Open gmail in a new tab. You should see a small diamond in the right side of the browser bar next to the star. Click on the diamond and select Allow. 



Now you are complete when you click an email link it should automatically open in Gmail.
